Expert Reader Report was created organically, driven by a passion for reader and a deep knowledge of the publishing industry.

After Inga McVicar (the expert reader, of Expert Reader Report) was approached by yet another budding author* seeking her practical advice and critique of their manuscript in their efforts to get it published, it made sense, for all concerned, to create a formal structure of services.

Since then, Inga has invited previous colleagues, and other literary experts, to work with her in providing additional services for writers.

Expert Reader Report is not a literary agent, nor a publisher, nor can guarantee that your manuscript will one day end up as a book, on a bookshop shelf.

Expert Reader Report is a literary consultant: providing publishing advice and writing services which help to improve your writing, the structure of your manuscript, your submission to publishers and (ultimately) navigation past the slush pile.

With publishers increasingly less willing to ‘take a chance’ on new writers (and even previously published authors), every reason you can give them to have faith that your book will be a success is one step forward to becoming a published author.
