Helen is a freelance editor and proofreader, with over 15 years' experience. Helen was previously Managing Editor for Canongate Books Ltd, and has worked with a large number of UK-based publishing houses.


Bev Walden

Bev is our resident science fiction expert, with over 8 years' experience of book retail, including key/senior positions in branches of Waterstone's and Borders Books and Music Ltd.

Bev has been a front-of-store manager (so knows a bestseller when she reads it), has managed bookshop events and is also a professional photographer (so is the ideal person to know for author pictures, book jackets, websites ...).


Kate Ross

Kate Ross is a PhD student at the Centre for Literature and Writing, in the School of Arts and Creative Industries at Edinburgh Napier University.

She is researching the works and life of  the Victorian novelist Sir Henry Rider Haggard (1856-1925). Her specialist area of interest is the nineteenth century British Empire, both its history and its writers. She has a background in the study of Scottish and Irish history and the history of the Scottish publishing industry.
