Editing and proofreading services, specific to book editing, need to be bespoke per manuscript.  That's because some manuscripts may only require structural alterations, whereas others may require significant editing to improve (for example) grammar.

Because of that, we prefer to view manuscripts first before providing you with a fee quote for any editorial service.

All of the editing services below help to ensure that your manuscript:

• is 'clean' of errors

• will be accessible for literary agents and/or publishers to read

• will have a bonus mark in its favour when it is considered for publication (as you will already have undertaken tasks on which publishers normally have to spend their time and money)

Editorial comment

• Similar to an Expert Reader Report, but specifically focuses on the 'nuts and bolts' technical aspects of your writing

Editorial comment: £20* per hour

Editorial structural overview

• An editorial review of your manuscript which specifically focuses on how your writing is structured, specifically with a view as to how this structure will work as a published book.

• For example, a structural overview of a novel may find that certain passages, or even entire chapters, might need to be reordered or adapted

£300* (based on a 200 page manuscript)

Professional Proofreading

• Your entire manuscript will be proofread by a professional editor, who will mark-up and advise where corrections needs to be made

Basic proof-read: £20* per hour

Editing

• A complete editorial process, including comment, structural overview and proofreading
